Pass Creek flows through the northern reaches of this landscape within the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, marking one of the few named hydrological features in this remote Alaskan interior. The terrain is defined by significant elevation changes, with ridges and valleys systematically partitioned by the Public Land Survey System, including sections of t37n r22e, t37n r23e, and t36n r23e. This 2018 survey captures the intersection of several townships where the natural drainage patterns of Pass Creek provide the primary geographical orientation in a region largely devoid of human infrastructure or permanent settlements.
