About this map

East Fork Armells Creek and its many winding tributaries define the drainage patterns of this Rosebud County landscape as recorded in 1971. The terrain is deeply incised by a network of seasonal watercourses including Lee Coulee, Miller Coulee, and Richard Spring Coulee, which converge toward the larger basins. Evidence of early 1970s land use is found in scattered industrial markers like the Gravel Pit and Drill Hole locations, though large-scale infrastructure remains sparse. The southern edge of the sheet captures a portion of Rosebud Creek, a significant regional waterway. Surveyors used the Base Line as a primary reference for the grid, while private tracks provide the only access across the ridges and coulees of this cattle and coal-country interior.
