Bitter Cr weaves through a complex network of high desert drainage systems in this part of Uintah County. The landscape is defined by its dramatic ridges and branching canyons, including Indian Ridge and McCook Ridge which serve as natural barriers across the high plateau. The topography is etched with numerous named gulches and washes, from the ominous Suicide Canyon to the descriptively named Slick Rock Canyon and Death Trap Canyon.
