Eyak River and the expansive delta of the Glacier River dominate this coastal survey, where the heavy glaciation of the Heney Range meets the Gulf of Alaska. The landscape is a complex shifting network of mud and sand flats, defined by the tidal reaches of Government Slough and the Egg Island Channel. Human presence is minimal and transient, marked only by isolated clusters of Cabins and Fishing Cabins positioned near the water's edge to take advantage of the local salmon runs.
