Green River and Russian Spring Creek dominate the landscape in this portion of Stark County, their winding paths cutting through the plains north of Dickinson. The hydrology of the area is modified by small-scale infrastructure such as Pelton Dam and the Green River Dam, which appear alongside the prominent topographical elevations of Simon Butte and the namesake Davis Buttes.
