1954 Map of Dickeys Mills

USGS Topo · Published 1955

About this map

The Nolin River winds in deep loops through the limestone karst country of Edmonson and Grayson Counties, carving a path toward the northern boundary of Mammoth Cave National Park. This 1954 survey documents a rural landscape of ridge-top settlements and creek-bottom agriculture just before the creation of the Nolin River Lake. Evidence of the region’s timber and farming roots is visible in the scattered communities of Dickeys Mills, Anneta, and Iberia.
