1985 Map of Dolores Point North

USGS Topo · Published 1986

About this map

The Dolores River cuts a deep, winding path through this corner of the Colorado Plateau in the mid-1980s, marked by numerous rapids as it flows toward its confluence. The landscape is defined by massive plateau features, including Steamboat Mesa, Polar Mesa, and South Beaver Mesa, which dominate the western and central portions of the sheet. This terrain is part of the Manti-La Sal National Forest, where the topography drops sharply from high mesas into Gateway Canyon and Lumsden Canyon.
