The settlement of Dorset sits at the heart of this Hubbard County landscape, defined by an intricate network of glacial lakes and waterways. The Heartland Trial cuts through the center of the region, tracing a path south of Big Sand Lake and north of the expansive Lake Belle Taine. To the south, the terrain transitions into a dense concentration of smaller water bodies including Peysenske Lake and Sunday Lake, eventually meeting the Crow Wing River as it winds through the lower portion of the map.
