Sharon Ridge Oil Field dominates the western landscape of this Scurry County region, illustrating the intense energy infrastructure that has long defined the local economy. In the eastern portion of the survey, the small community of Dunn serves as a central point for the surrounding rural network, connected by a grid of farm-to-market and county roads including W FM 1606 and FM 2835. The terrain is deeply etched by a complex drainage system that feeds into the Colorado River, which winds across the southern reaches of the map. Major tributaries such as Canyon Creek, Deep Creek, and Sulphur Creek illustrate the hydrologic character of the West Texas plains. For researchers, the map provides a look at the interplay between industrial land use and the traditional ranch roads and trails, such as Roadrunner Path and Travland Trl.
