Dworshak Reservoir defines the southwestern portion of this Clearwater County landscape, where the rising waters of the impoundment meet the drainages of Cranberry Cr and Long Meadow Cr. The terrain is characterized by prominent high ground such as Aldermand Ridge, Elk Ridge, and Tick Ridge, which separate the various creek systems feeding into the reservoir. A network of backcountry roads, including Elk River Rd and Dent Bridge Rd, provides access to these ridges and the interior canyons.
