The town of Fountain sits at the intersection of MN-80 and Us-52 in the northern portion of this Fillmore County landscape. The terrain is defined by a dense network of winding creeks and river branches, most notably the S Br Root River which flows through the southern half of the quadrangle. This area serves as a significant intersection of rural community life and conservation, containing both the Fillmore County Airport and a portion of Forestville Mystery State Park.
