Fremont and its western outskirts are documented here at a time of continued expansion and preservation in Sandusky Co. The landscape is defined by the winding course of the Sandusky River and several drainage systems, including Muskellunge Cr and Wolf Cr, which have historically dictated the placement of agricultural boundaries and transport routes. A notable survival of nineteenth-century engineering is the Mull Covered Bridge spanning the East Branch of Wolf Creek, one of the few remaining timber-framed crossings in the region.
