About this map

Kaniksu National Forest defines this mountainous borderland where the Washington and Idaho state lines converge in the late 1960s. The landscape is dominated by the high ridgeline of the Pelke Divide, which separates the drainages of numerous alpine streams. Water moves through the terrain via the West Branch Priest River and its lower reaches, fed by mountain tributaries including Galena Creek, Moores Creek, and Blickensderfer Creek. Peaks like Galena Point and Goose Creek Point provide significant vertical relief, reached only by a rugged Jeep Trail that winds through the central woods. To the north, Squaw Valley and Tola Point mark the edge of the wilderness, while the boundary between Pend Oreille County and Bonner County bisects the drainage of Goose Creek.
