The Umatilla National Forest occupies this high-elevation landscape along the border of Washington and Oregon. At the center of the region's management and access is the Godman Guard Sta and the nearby Godman Spring, situated along the Kendall Skyline Road. The terrain is defined by deep drainages like Green Canyon and the North Fork Touchet River, which carve between prominent landforms such as Chase Mountain and Sawtooth Ridge.

Evidence of seasonal high-country use appears in localized improvements like Touchet Corral and Burnt Flat Corral, reflecting the area's history of forest service and grazing activities. Numerous named water sources, including Stayawhile Spring, Wildcat Spring, and Lady Spring, provided essential stops for travelers on the network of trails. Much of the southern and eastern portion of the sheet is designated as the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness, preserving the character of the Blue Mountains as they were surveyed in the late 1960s.
