Goodspeed Butte rises over a landscape defined by an extensive network of water management features in Powder River County. This 2011 survey reveals a complex system of livestock reservoirs and named springs, including the Elk Creek Reservoir Number Two and Goodspeed Draw Reservoir. The terrain is deeply incised by draws and coulees, such as Griffin Coulee and Hedum Draw, which direct seasonal runoff through this high-plains environment.
