About this map

Big Cypress Creek meanders along the boundary of Titus Co and Camp Co, anchoring a landscape of small rural settlements and river-bottom timberland in the mid-1960s. The northern reaches of Pittsburg dominate the southwest corner, showing the early development of Pecan Heights and the local Fairground and Golf Course. The industrial and transportation identity of the region is evident through the crossing routes of the St Louis Southwestern and the Arkansas and Louisiana railroads, which facilitated the movement of goods and timber.
