About this map

Hickory Run State Park serves as the focal point of this Carbon County landscape, showcasing the geological formation known as Boulder Field and the expansive conservation areas of the Poconos. The Lehigh River carves through the western edge of the quadrangle, where the Francis E Walter Dam regulates the water levels near the intersection of the Luzerne and Carbon County line. The infrastructure of the mid-1960s is evident in the path of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension as it crosses Interstate 80 near Leonardsville.
