Sheep Cr and Lumpjaw Cr wind through this corner of Eastern Montana, defining a landscape marked by the convergence of Fallon, Custer, and Carter Counties. The topography is dominated by the drainages of these seasonal waterways, including Ash Cr and Lone Tree Cr, which cut through the high plains. Human infrastructure is sparse, concentrated primarily on ranch access and water management as evidenced by the namesake Hooky Dam on the eastern edge of the quadrangle.
