About this map

The Yampa River meanders sharply through this Moffat County landscape, defining the topography between high ridges and broad basins. The high point of Duffy Mountain dominates the southern half of the quadrangle, overlooking the Axial Basin and the confluence of several drainages including Morgan Gulch and Boxelder Gulch. A notable human imprint on this natural landscape is the Duffy Tunnel, located near a prominent bend in the river south of Signal Butte.
