Iconium serves as the central hub of this Missouri landscape, situated near the north-south boundary line between St. Clair and Benton counties. The western portion of the region is dominated by the sprawling reaches of the Harry S Truman Reservoir, where the water wraps around Horseshoe Bend and reaches into several named drainages including Collins Hollow and Garrison Hollow. This 2017 study illustrates the intersection of rural life and water management, where established settlements like Iconium and Harper sit on the higher ground above the intricate reservoir shoreline.
