The Kuskokwim River defines the eastern edge of this landscape within the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area. This remote interior region is characterized by the winding path of the Nunsatuk River, which meanders through the western and southern sections of the quadrangle. The terrain is marked by a complex network of wetlands and seasonal drainages, typical of the subarctic river systems in this part of Alaska. Surveyed boundaries for t25n r39w and t24n r38w provide the primary structural data for this largely uninhabited territory, where the natural watercourses dictate the shape of the land.
