2019 Map of Iditarod B-6 NW

About this map

Big Yetna River flows through the northeast and southeast corners of this remote Alaskan interior landscape, carving a path through a series of repetitive, high-elevation ridges. The terrain is defined by a dense network of sub-basins and steep contour intervals, illustrating the complex drainage patterns characteristic of the Yukon-Koyukuk region. Unlike many topographic sheets that document human infrastructure, this 2019 survey shows a landscape almost entirely devoid of named settlements, roads, or man-made landmarks. Instead, the map serves as a primary record of the Public Land Survey System divisions, clearly marking the boundaries of t28n r52w, t27n r52w, and neighboring townships. This lack of development highlights the preservation of the natural hydrology and the persistent wilderness character of the Iditarod area.
