Big Yetna River flows through this interior landscape, providing the primary hydrological feature in a territory defined by its topographic isolation. Surveyed as part of the Iditarod C-6 SW quadrangle, the area is partitioned by the Public Land Survey System into several townships, including T29n R52w and T28n R51w. The terrain is characterized by a series of high ridges and drainage basins that illustrate the complex drainage patterns of the Yukon-Koyukuk region. In the absence of roads or established settlements, the map documents a wilderness where the natural contours of the land dictate the movement of water and potential traverse.
