The Salmon Trout River and its numerous tributaries dominate this 2011 survey of the northern Huron Mountains near the shores of Lake Superior. The landscape is defined by its significant vertical drops and water features, most notably the series of cascades including Eighty Foot Falls, Upper Falls, Hogback Falls, and Lower Falls. Along the coast, Gillet Landing sits on Salmon Trout Bay, marking one of the few points of access to the lake in this heavily forested terrain.
