Green River carves a deep path through the southern half of this quadrangle, defining the dramatic topography of Whirlpool Canyon within the Dinosaur National Monument. The landscape is dominated by high plateaus and complex drainage systems, including Diamond Mtn and Hardscrabble Mtn. A significant human imprint on this wilderness is the Jones Hole National Fish Hatchery, situated near the headwaters of Jones Hole Cr and the Jones Hole Springs.
