Plateau Mountain and the high summits of the Catskills define this topographic study, surveyed in 1892 and reprinted in 1948. The landscape is marked by the early resort culture and specialized transportation of the era, most notably the Otis Elevating R. R. leading toward the famed Mountain House near North Lake. This network of inclines and narrow-gauge lines, including the C. & T. R. R., connected seasonal enclaves like Twilight Park and Onteora Park to the valley below.

In the southern reaches, the map transitions toward Woodstock and Beaver Kill, showing a network of small hamlets such as Shady, Lake Hill, and Yankeetown. The difficult terrain of Stony Clove and Mink Hollow dictates the placement of the Ulster and Delaware R. R., which winds through the mountain passes to reach Hunter and Tannersville. These labels document a region at the height of its first major tourism boom, before modern highways replaced the rail-and-carriage routes through Kaaterskill Clove.
