Humpback Lake and its smaller neighbor, Little Humpback Lake, dominate the southern reaches of this wilderness quadrangle within the Tongass National Forest. The landscape is defined by a complex network of freshwater drainages, including the Red River and Cobb Creek, which carve through the dense coastal timber of Southeast Alaska. To the northwest, the map captures the transition to the Pacific Ocean near the shores of Hugh Smith Lake.
