The United States-Canada border forms the northern boundary of this wilderness area, where the Loon River and Loon Lake define the international line. Located within the Superior National Forest, the landscape is a network of interconnected waterways and drainage systems, including the Hunting Shack River, Gaunt Cr, and Beaver Stream. The southern portion of the map is dominated by Lake Jeanette, a central hub for the surrounding primitive road and trail network.
