Lark sits along the winding course of Louse Cr in the southeastern corner of this Grant County landscape. The area is defined by its agricultural grid and the prominent topography of the Rattlesnake Buttes, which rise above the surrounding prairie. This 2014 survey documents a sparsely populated rural district where local travel is managed by a network of sectional roads like 50th Ave SW and 66th St SW, which intersect with the primary corridor of ND-21. Local history is anchored by the Pleasant View Cem, located centrally between the buttes and the settlement at Lark. The drainage of Otter Cr marks the northern boundary of the quadrangle, illustrating the natural watercourses that dictate the placement of early homesteads and modern township lines in this part of North Dakota.
