Leadore sits at the junction of high-desert plains and the towering peaks of the Salmon National Forest, serving as a vital hub for the ranching and timber activities of the Lemhi Valley during the mid-1950s. The landscape is defined by the Lemhi River and its numerous tributaries, including Eighteenmile Creek and Texas Creek, which carve through the valley floor.
