Soap Creek Canyon and Limestone Canyon dominate this high-relief landscape in the southeastern corner of Montana. This 2017 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey documents the intricate drainage network of Big Horn County, where the perennial and intermittent flows of W Soap Cr and the S Fork W Soap Cr carve deep into the plateau. The terrain is defined by its verticality, from the northern reaches near Goose Coulee and War Man Cr down to the southern boundary where Rotten Grass Canyon begins its descent. Human activity is largely confined to the remote path of Soap Creek Rd in the northeast, leaving the vast majority of the quadrangle as an undisturbed expanse of dramatic rimrock and high-country drainages including Deer Cr and the primary course of Soap Cr.
