Lobo stands as a focal point in the high desert of the Trans-Pecos, situated where the Van Horn Mountains meet the expansive Lobo Valley. This 2019 survey illustrates a landscape of stark contrasts, from the prominent elevation of High Lonesome Peak to the drainages of Wild Horse Cr and Wild Horse Draw. The terrain is deeply incised by drainages such as China Canyon and Hammer Handle Canyon, which reveal the complex topography of the western mountain front.
