Middle Mountain dominates this high-elevation landscape in Cassia County, where steep slopes transition into the open expanse of Junction Valley to the east. Surveyed in the late 1960s, the map documents a terrain defined by sparse settlement and rugged ranching life. The eastern valley floor shows the Moulton (Site) and the small community of Walters, connected by a network of drainage systems like Junction Creek and Birch Creek.

Evidence of resource extraction is found on the eastern flanks of the mountain, where a Quarry and several quarries are marked near the Jeep Trail. Higher elevations are largely contained within the Sawtooth National Forest, featuring numerous isolated water sources such as Slide Spring and Cold Spring. The presence of several corrals throughout the lower elevations suggests this land remained primarily used for livestock grazing and seasonal transit through Lyman Pass.
