Marilee and its surrounding agricultural landscape are defined by an extensive water management network developed throughout the late 20th century. This 2010 survey details a series of twelve engineered sites, including Soil Conservation Service Site 1 Dam and Soil Conservation Service Site 12 Dam, which coordinate drainage across the central and eastern sections of the quadrangle. These structures highlight the region's historical commitment to soil conservation and flood control along the tributaries of Little Elm Creek and Buck Creek.
