1961 Map of Mc Coy

USGS Topo · Published 1970

About this map

The Fish Creek Mountains and the Shoshone Range frame this high-desert basin in central Nevada during the early 1960s. Mining activity is evident on both sides of the valley, from the McCoy Mine near the settlement of McCoy to the Mountain Springs Mine tucked into the eastern hills. The central landscape is defined by the ephemeral Reese River and a network of water sources vital for ranching and prospecting, including Pickett Well, Natomas Well, and Dillon Well.
