Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park encompasses this high-elevation Alaskan wilderness, where the glacial and riverine systems of the interior remain largely untouched. The landscape is defined by the drainage network of the Chakina River, which flows northward through the central corridor of the quadrangle. It is joined by the West Fork Chakina River amidst a complex of ridges and peaks that exceed 4,000 feet in elevation. To the northwest, the Klu River cuts through the terrain, while the southwest is marked by the headwaters of Monahan Creek.
