About this map

Chitina River and the Tana River define the northern and eastern boundaries of this vast glacial landscape in eastern Alaska. The terrain is dominated by the massive peaks and drainage basins within the Wrangell Saint Elias National Park and the Wrangell Saint Elias Wilderness. Evidence of small-scale backcountry activity appears along the riverbanks, notably at Jakes Bar, which features several cabins and the Jakes Bar Landing Strip providing essential air access to this remote interior.
