The Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness dominate this high-altitude landscape where the Wrangell Mountains meet the Saint Elias Mountains. The terrain is defined by dramatic glacial features, including the Chitistone Glacier and the Chitistone River which carves through the northern reaches of the quadrangle. Along the western edge, the Goat Trail Route Trl skirts the slopes above Toby Creek, providing a rare established path through this complex vertical environment.
