The Wrangell Mountains dominate this high-altitude landscape, where the massive Nizina Glacier and Regal Glacier feed the regional drainage systems. Located within the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and the Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness, the area is characterized by dramatic elevation changes marked by landmarks like Chimney Mtn and Tinplate Hill. The hydrology of the region is defined by the Skolai Creek which flows into the Nizina River in the southern portion of the quadrangle. This 2023 survey documents the state of these glacial systems and protected park boundaries in the Copper River Census Area, providing a precise record of the topographical and hydrological features that define this part of the Alaskan interior.
