About this map

The glacial systems of Lime Glacier and Middle Fork Glacier dominate this interior landscape, feeding the complex drainage networks of the Wrangell Mountains. Surveyed in the late 1950s, the terrain reveals a high-altitude wilderness where glacial melt transforms into the North Fork White River and Middle Fk White River. Evidence of early human presence and navigation is visible through a simple Cabin and a dedicated Pack Trail that crosses the southern portion of the quadrangle. Distinctive peaks such as Beaver Pk and Solo Mountain serve as natural landmarks above the level terrain of the Solo Flats. This survey captures the region just as photogrammetric methods from 1957 aerial photography were beginning to provide more precise mapping of these remote ice fields and high-country creeks including Geohenda Creek and Bow Creek.
