McKeever and Otter Lake anchor the northwestern corner of this landscape, situated within the expansive Adirondack Park Preserve. The terrain is defined by a dense network of high-altitude water bodies and drainages, including the Moose River and the sprawling Woodhull Lake. This 2016 survey captures the area's character as a managed wilderness, where the transition between Herkimer and Oneida counties is marked by a vast system of brooks and marshes such as Granny Marsh.
