The South Fork Flathead River carves a central path through this wilderness landscape, creating the dramatic Meadow Creek Gorge. Remote outposts of the U.S. Forest Service define the human presence here, notably the Meadow Creek Guard Station and the adjacent Meadow Creek Landing Strip, which served as vital access points before the deeper reaches of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
