The Sawtooth Range dominates this portion of the northern Rockies, where the boundary between the Lewis & Clark National Forest and Flathead National Forest meets at the continental divide. High-elevation landmarks such as Morningstar Mtn, Curly Bear Mtn, and Spotted Eagle Mtn define the crest of the range, providing the headwaters for a complex drainage system including Badger Creek, Lonesome Cr, and Muskrat Cr.
