Mount Lewis and the high ridges of the Shoshone Range dominate this interior Nevada landscape within Lander County. The area is defined by a series of steep drainages including Crum Canyon, Bateman Canyon, and Slaven Canyon, which cut through the high-elevation terrain. This 2014 survey documents a network of isolated springs such as Cherry Spring, Tunnel Spring, and Indian Box Spring, which serve as critical water sources in an otherwise arid environment.
