The landscape is characterized by a high density of ancestral sites, including Larissa Cem, Tarrant Cem, and the Mt Nevellon Ch. The presence of the Mount Selman Speed Bowl near the railroad tracks provides a glimpse into local recreation of the era, while the St Louis Southwestern railroad corridor remains the primary transit spine through the rolling East Texas terrain.

Energy infrastructure is notable throughout the quadrangle, with numerous Oil Wells and Gas Wells dotting the hillsides between Killough Creek and Gum Creek. To the south, the expansion of Jacksonville begins to touch the map's edge near Pomona, where Loves Lookout Park offers a vantage point over the complex network of branches and creeks, such as Wallace Branch and Brushy Creek, that drain into Hollywood Lake.
