The Roseau River meanders through this remote northern Minnesota landscape, where the borders of Beltrami, Roseau, and Lake of the Woods counties converge. This 2013 survey documents a sparsely populated region defined by its water systems and a strictly gridded network of rural transit corridors. The hydrology is anchored by Mulligan Lake in the southeast and the various branches of Hansen Cr, which flows across the northern reaches of the quadrangle.
