Humboldt National Forest lands dominate this high-elevation terrain in White Pine County, where the landscape is defined by a series of deep drainage systems. The eastern slopes are carved by Old Mans Canyon, Rhodes Canyon, and Rock Canyon, while the western side features the branching headwaters of Silver Creek, including its Main Fork and Second Fork.

Mining activity is evidenced by several prospects and a prospect located on the lower reaches of Old Mans Canyon. These sites, along with the Hendrys Creek Trail following Hendrys Creek and its South Fork, suggest a history of resource extraction and early mountain transit. The hydrology of the area is further marked by the presence of a Spring and the seasonal path of Miller Basin Wash to the south.
