The Little Bitterroot River winds through the southwestern corner of this high-elevation terrain on the Flathead Indian Reservation, marking a critical water source in an otherwise arid landscape defined by deep draws and prominent ridges. Rising above the surrounding valleys, Oliver Point serves as a central landmark, flanked by the steep drainage of Oliver Gulch to the north and the wide basin of Big Gulch to the south.
