Lolo National Forest and Helena National Forest converge in this high-altitude landscape along the boundary of Lewis and Clark and Powell Counties. The terrain is defined by prominent summits including Olson Peak, Galusha Peak, and Bugle Mtn, with Red Ridge marking the eastern portion of the quadrangle. This area serves as a significant drainage basin, where the N Fork Blackfoot River and the E Fork N Fork Blackfoot River are fed by numerous high-country tributaries such as Theodore Cr and Spaulding Cr.
