The rural social center is marked by the Onion Creek Sch, located at a bend in the creek where it meets the West Fork Onion Creek.

To the northwest, the Columbia River flows through the Coulee Dam Nat Rec Area, where the Lake Roosevelt reservoir is constrained by the narrow Little Dalles.
